SYDNEY Swans coach John Longmire is focusing all his energies on trying to remedy his side's inconsistent performances this season.
The Swans will be out to snap a two-game losing streak when they take on Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday night, after consecutive defeats at the hands of Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs.

Longmire cut his coaching teeth as an assistant to Demons coach Paul Roos at the Swans, but despite the impending match-up of the club's last two premiership coaches, said he hasn't had time to analyse any similarities between the Demons and his own team.
"With all due respect to 'Roosy' - and I've got a lot of respect for Paul Roos - I try and look at what we're doing, and get that right on a weekly basis," Longmire said.
"I'm sure whatever Paul is doing at Melbourne is quality, because I've seen what he's been able to do at close hand, but I'll leave that up to 'Roosy' and I'm sure wants to leave the Swans up to me."
The biggest issue confronting Longmire is the side's inability to play its typical brand of hard, contested footy for four quarters, especially early in games.
Essendon jumped the Swans in round one, and while Longmire's men turned the tide against Port Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney, both Fremantle and the Bulldogs have made bright starts in the past fortnight.
The Swans managed to sneak away with a win against the Bombers, but lost to the Dockers in Perth and the reinvented Dogs at home on Saturday night.
"We just didn't have the consistency of effort and they made us pay for some of our mistakes - they're going very well, they're playing good football at the moment," Longmire said.
"Their intensity is good and ours wavered during the course of the game and they made us pay, so that was essentially the wash-up of the game.
"Mistakes happen all the time - you can't get hung up on that too much.
"Every team has momentum in games and has their turn - it's about making sure we reduce that impact of the opposition when they've got their chance, and when you get your opportunity, making sure you put the score on the board."
Longmire could have some positive selection issues to think about this week, with exciting youngster Isaac Heeney and swingman Sam Reid expected to train in a bid to push for recall against the Demons.
Heeney missed Saturday's clash after injuring his ankle against Fremantle, and the club opted for a cautious approach with the NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.
Reid was a late withdrawal on Saturday after pulling up with a tight calf after the Swans' final training session of the week and will test himself at training on Thursday.
