SYDNEY co-captain Dane Rampe has been cleared to play in this afternoon's Marsh Community Series clash with Greater Western Sydney, with the reigning club champion set for his first hitout this season.

Rampe missed last week's scratch match against the Giants but has overcome a calf issue and will take his place in an undermanned Swans defence on limited minutes. 

With Callum Mills and Jake Lloyd both playing in Friday night's State of Origin for Bushfire Relief match, Rampe's experience will be vital for Sydney in the back half.

The Giants will also be without a host of big names, with skipper Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly, Toby Greene, Jeremy Cameron, Lachie Whitfield and Nick Haynes all missing after the representing the All-Stars and Victoria.

Highly rated draftees Lachie Ash and Tom Green will get their first taste of senior action at Blacktown International Sportspark.
