THE FINAL weekend of the Marsh Community Series is important for clubs to have one final dress rehearsal before the season proper.
For AFL Fantasy coaches, it's a chance to see which rookies may be set for round one and if the roles for the mid-priced players look likely to continue when the home and away season commences.
The Traders look at every club and which players they are keen to put in their teams if they impress this weekend because of their perceived value.

Chayce Jones (FWD, $318,000) featured in 35 per cent of the Crows' centre bounces in week one for 64 points with many of their star midfielders playing limited minutes. His role up the ground is one that eight per cent of his coaches are hoping to see more of when they meet the Suns this Friday. Myles Poholke (FWD, $288,000) is another name to monitor as well, especially after he attended a team-high centre bounces for his score of 83. He averaged 92 in the SANFL last year and is currently fighting for a position in Adelaide's best 22. - Calvin
Hugh McCluggage (MID, $678,000) had an outstanding breakout year last season but many coaches are keeping a close eye on him with the belief he has yet another gear. His performance in Marsh W1 did nothing to deter those suspicions with an impressive 116, including three goals. Although it is looking like a long shot for round one, we can still hold hope for Brandon Starcevich (DEF/MID, $189,000) to fill a spot on our bench. His points per minute were solid against the Power with 31 from 45 per cent game time. - Roy
Jack Martin (FWD/MID, $619,000) certainly gave a glimpse of what we can expect in navy and it legitimately was a glimpse, playing just 45 per cent of the game for an impressive 52, which included five tackles. He is certainly one to watch as a potential mid-priced option and Draft slider. Skipper Sam Docherty (DEF, $563,000) is owned by less than half the competition despite having the scoring potential of an elite midfielder. He scored over 50 points in the second half against the Dockers and will need to be selected if he keeps scoring at that rate this week. - Roy
The most popular bench ruck put on a show last weekend. In the absence of Brodie Grundy, former Swan Darcy Cameron (RUC/FWD, $170,000) relished his time as the No.1 man for the Pies, scoring 107 against the Tigers. Obviously he won't be taking Grundy's role in the team, but if Cameron can hit the scoreboard and provide better support as the back-up ruck than Mason Cox, then he's a chance to find a spot in Collingwood's 22 early in the season. - Warnie
PRE-SEASON FIXTURE Check out your team's Marsh Community Series games
Coaches wanting to start with Devon Smith (MID/FWD, $720,000) will want to see more of what he did in the second half of last week's match against the Eagles where he spent more time in the midfield, rather than half-forward. But it could be fellow forward Will Snelling (FWD, $420,000) who could be the best value pick from Essendon after he top-scored in the same game with 113 points from just 65 per cent time on ground. Jacob Townsend (FWD, $266,000) should still be on the radar as an under-priced option from the Dons. - Warnie
With mid-priced options in vogue, the Dockers have three that are well worth consideration on the back of impressive roles and form in their first Marsh Series game of the year. While Blake Acres (FWD/MID, $501,000) was one of the better performers, he will miss the opening rounds of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury at training. It was reported that young dual position options Andrew Brayshaw (FWD/MID, $516,000) and Adam Cerra (DEF/MID, $451,000) would be given the reins in the midfield this season and their game against the Blues reflected that, registering plenty of centre bounces and scoring 93 and 83 respectively. If they are in there when Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters return, jump on. - Roy
There is good news for Fantasy coaches keen to slot Jack Steven (MID/FWD, $653,000) into their starting Fantasy Classic squad or pick him as one of their Fantasy Draft forwards. He has been named on the ball which should please anyone considering starting the former Saint. - Calvin
SECRETS TO SUCCESS How best to use the new utility position
All eyes will be on the Suns' rookies. Matt Rowell (MID, $270,000) is locked away in many Fantasy teams after his 82 points in game one and for many coaches, he'll be sitting alongside Noah Anderson (MID, $268,000) as coaches pay up for the expensive rookies, knowing that they will play games early. However, it's their other rookies such as Connor Budarick (MID/FWD, $170,000) and Jeremy Sharp (MID, $218,000) who will look to stake their claim for round one, at a much cheaper price. - Calvin
The flow-on effect of Tim Taranto's injury will be something to monitor for the Giants as to who may benefit if he's missing the opening rounds. With the second ruck a major talking point for Fantasy coaches, Sam Jacobs (RUC, $514,000) has every opportunity to increase his 18 per cent ownership with a good showing. The key will be whether he's likely to have any competition or play alongside Shane Mumford. - Warnie
LIST RATINGS Roos' shock rise, Dogs tipped to shine
Tom Mitchell (MID, $671,000) is arguably the biggest bargain this year. It's obvious, but we just want to see him get through and hope that he can get back to his 2018 form when he broke the record for most Fantasy points in the season. Aside from the Fantasy Pig, another good outing from Chad Wingard (MID/FWD, $582,000) and Jonathon Patton (RUC/FWD, $366,000) would see the duo as serious options for the forward line. Wingard played through the midfield in week one of the Marsh Series while Patton kicked three goals to score 71, a score that would see him increase in value in the real season. Keep an eye on Damon Greaves (DEF, $170,000) who may get a call-up while Blake Hardwick is on the sidelines. How James Sicily (DEF, $620,000) plays will also be something to look at for the seven per cent of coaches with the defender in their back six. - Warnie
Ownership numbers for Christian Petracca (FWD, $563,000) went from one per cent to more than 14 per cent off the back of his 145 points a fortnight ago. He has teased Fantasy coaches for years, but that elusive midfield role was there when the Dees played the Crows in week one of the Marsh Series as he racked up 38 disposals and booted three goals. Here’s a chance to see if Petracca is a ‘Pe-trap-pa’ or not. - Warnie
After scoring 71 in his debut for the Kangaroos, former Giant Aiden Bonar (MID/FWD, $333,000) could be another value option in our forward line. He attended the equal-sixth most centre bounces in his first game and laid an impressive eight tackles. North were missing many big names that day though, so it will be interesting to see his role and scoring output on Monday afternoon. - Calvin
Dan Houston (DEF/MID, $596,000) fans saw all they needed to see against the Lions with the youngster attending the most centre bounces for the Power on his way to 95. Meanwhile, fellow young gun Connor Rozee (FWD, $539,000) also embraced his increased opportunities through the middle with 19 touches and eight tackles for a score of 94 … in just 57 per cent game time. If those roles continue it will be hard to say no. Rookie Mitch Georgiades (FWD, $236,000) had a solid debut with 37 from just 49 per cent game time keeping him on the cash cow watchlist. - Roy
Premiership hero Marlion Pickett (MID, $170,000) is currently owned by 58 per cent of the competition following his pre-season debut for the club where he scored 44 from 14 touches in 79 per cent game time. Don't be turned off by the low score, keep an eye on his role and lock him in. - Roy
MARSH W2 SNAPSHOT Who's attending the most centre bounces?
Max King (FWD, $170,000) is unlikely to be a huge Fantasy scorer in his first few seasons. However, he is a popular forward bench option for a good reason - job security. He played 82 per cent of the opening Marsh Series game for 44 points and his 46 per cent of owners are bullish he'll be there in round one. Discounted defender Dylan Roberton (DEF, $327,000) has been on the sidelines for almost two years and he returned in the Saints' practice match in Morwell last Friday. If he gets through unscathed, he's a lock. - Warnie
Rookies are becoming hard to find so we are hoping that Will Gould (DEF, $220,000) does enough on Monday to claim a starting role in round one after he scored 47 from 68 per cent game time last weekend. After missing all of 2018, Sam Naismith (RUC, $284,000) has come from nowhere to be the centre of discussions this week. He scored 67 in just over half a game and could be Sydney's 2020 No.1 ruckman, but how will they use him and Callum Sinclair (RUC, $568,000)? - Calvin
Against the Bombers last weekend, Bailey Williams (DEF/RUC, $170,000) stepped up showing he is ready for the big league. He scored 59, helping out Naitanui in the ruck department when he wasn’t dropping back in defence. He is listed as injured this week so his round one hope may have taken a hit. We were hoping for more than just 47 points last weekend from Jarrad Brander (DEF/FWD, $217,000) as he fights for a position in our Fantasy teams. This will be the final chance to impress in his new role. - Calvin
Not so much searching for value, but this is the last opportunity to work out how many and who of the Dogs' big three midfielders you will select. In their first Marsh Series game it was the cheapest of the three, Marcus Bontempelli (MID, $777,000), leading the way with 151 while Jack Macrae (MID, $858,000) did what he does with an impressive 126. Bont's domination caused a slight ownership swing after popular youngster Josh Dunkley (MID, $824,000) managed 'only' 99 but he is every chance to come out and lead the way this week. Watch them closely, a big call needs to be made. - Roy
