COLLINGWOOD coach Nathan Buckley has posted a simple, yet poignant tribute to young Pies fan Kyron McGuire Jnr, who tragically lost his battle to a rare brain cancer on Monday.
Buckley posted a photo of Kyron and his father at a Collingwood training session last year with the caption: "A father and his son … RIP Kyron Jnr."

Kyron captured the hearts of footy fans around the country last year when Collingwood shared his brave story, welcoming him and his father into the club and inviting him into the inner sanctum of the team on game day.
Vision of the youngster being carried from the field by captain Scott Pendlebury and midfield star Adam Treloar after that particular match then became one of the most enduring and heartfelt images of the footy season.
Collingwood released a statement regarding his tragic passing on Tuesday, sharing a message that read: "We're deeply saddened to hear Kyron McGuire Jnr lost his battle to a rare brain cancer on Monday.
"We were fortunate enough to welcome Kyron and his family to the club in 2019. His bravery inspired many and we're truly grateful to have met this little legend.
"Rest easy buddy."
