Hawthorn’s VFL affiliate Box Hill has signed a number of senior players over the summer as the team continues to build towards season 2011.

Ex-Hawthorn player Beau Muston joins Box Hill after an impressive AFL season in 2010. After recovering from serious knee injuries, Muston played five games for Hawthorn last season spearheading a defensive midfield role.

Joining Muston is former Sydney Swan Taylor Gilchrist who has returned to his family in Melbourne and is looking forward to contributing to the Box Hill Hawks midfield after two seasons with the Swans.

AFL ruckman Adam Pattison adds to the list of ex-AFL players heading to Box Hill after playing in 61 games for Richmond and St Kilda.

Box Hill General Manager Andrew McLeish is pleased to welcome the trio to the club.

“The boys each have a solid AFL background and we’re hoping their experience at the highest level will help develop a lot of our guys down at City Oval,” McLeish said.

The Box Hill Hawks this week head to a training camp in Myrniong Victoria, with a new captain for 2011 to be announced upon their return.
