A DETERMINATION on whether Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney needs surgery has not yet been made, with the Demons to make a decision on the midfielder's shoulder injury on Monday.
Viney injured the AC joint in his right shoulder in a forceful bump from Tiger Sydney Stack in Wednesday night's Anzac Day Eve game at the MCG.
The co-skipper had scans on Thursday, but AFL.com.au understands Melbourne will reassess Viney on Monday to decide whether he can keep playing with the injury, or whether surgery is needed.

The tough midfielder left the ground in the last quarter of the game following the bump from Stack, before returning to the field later in the term.
It is understood Viney did not suffer any concussion symptoms, despite coach Simon Goodwin mentioning in his post-match press conference that club doctors would ensure he did not have delayed symptoms from the collision.
After playing against Richmond on Wednesday, Melbourne has 10 days to prepare for a clash against Hawthorn at the MCG next Saturday.
