ADELAIDE star Patrick Dangerfield should focus on enjoying his football this season and a decision on his future will become clear, according to Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak.    
 
Dangerfield, who is a free agent at the end of this season, appeared on the Simonds Stadium scoreboard wearing a Geelong jumper in a digitally altered image on Thursday night.
 
The picture further fuelled speculation the Cats are heavily courting the star midfielder and he could return to his home state at the end of this season.
 
Boak, who was also targeted by Geelong when he came out of contract in 2012, sympathised with the 24-year-old and said he was set for a frustrating year if he paid attention to the speculation.
 
"We can say that you don't really think about it too much, but I think in Adelaide it gets talked about a fair bit," Boak told AFL.com.au's First Bounce.
 
"It's a pretty small town and I'm sure it'll be in the paper most days over here.
 
"For Paddy, you've got to try and put it in the back of your mind and just go out and play footy and enjoy it.
 
"What I thought, the decision will come and you'll know what you want to do and when you want to do it."
 
Boak, who grew up in Torquay, initially re-signed with Power until the end of 2014.   
 
He then signed a four-year contract extension at the end of 2013 that tied him to the Power until the end of the 2018 season.
