THE WEEK after successfully negotiating a fired-up Melbourne, Port Adelaide is expecting more of the same from a Richmond side sure to be steeled by a week of humiliation.

The Tigers have been lambasted and forced to defend the direction of the club since their record 157-point losso to Geelong.

Power small forward Brett Ebert said the Demons game had been an ideal dress rehearsal before facing the Tigers, with both teams being at the foot of the ladder and straining to break a winless start to the season.

"It's going to be a tough week, similar last week to Melbourne, they hadn't won a game and were very fired up after a big week on the track," Ebert said.

"I wouldn't say it's a bad time to be playing them, because as a team we're playing pretty well, but like last week Richmond will come out pretty hard and we'll have to match them.

"We've worked out they'll come out strong, a few new players coming in and they haven't won yet.

"Last week we knew it would be tough, we got the points but were disappointed with how we played."

Ebert was not prepared to discuss how the Power expected Richmond to actually play.

But with most observers expecting some degree of flooding from Tigers coach Terry Wallace, Ebert said the key to combating a flood was speed - something the Power has in spades.

"Just play fast, can't really say more than that," he said.

Though small in stature, Ebert has proven an outstanding forward in the air as well as on the ground, his ability to outmark taller opponents making him devilishly tough to match.

That element of his game has been partially offset by the return of key forward and captain Warren Tredrea, but Ebert said they were close to discovering the correct formula to co-exist as leading and marking targets.

"It's taken a little bit of time, we didn't really have him over pre-season as well as a forward line, but it's great having 'Tredders' back," Ebert said.

"He creates a contest and his presence and voice are great to have back; he's hitting some form now and I'm sure he'll have a good game Saturday."
