TOM ROCKLIFF took a big step towards securing his spot in the Lions' round one team to play West Coast, training strongly in Brisbane on Thursday morning.
Rockliff bypassed the annual Captains' Day in Melbourne to resume training after tweaking his hamstring early last week, and ticked every box.
The Lions skipper completed a series of all-out sprints before joining in with some full ground training drills and finally goalkicking practice in the two-hour plus session.
He looked totally untroubled.
Rockliff looks like being joined to play the Eagles on March 27 by midfielder Allen Christensen and small forward Josh Green, who proved they were over their respective injuries.
Christensen missed the NAB Challenge series after surgery on his finger and was put through a mountain of handball and kicking drills at close quarters to prove it was fully healed.
Green – the club's leading goalkicker for the past two seasons – missed the past two months with a fractured foot, but completed the session.
