NORTH Melbourne midfielder Jy Simpkin faces an anxious 24 hours after a clash with Brisbane's Allen Christensen in the opening quarter on Sunday that left the Lions midfielder concussed and unable to further part in the match.
Other injuries to Charlie Cameron and Hugh McCluggage (hamstring) meant Brisbane was down to just one fit player on the bench for the second half, already trailing by 55 points at the main break.
Cameron was ruled out for the game after injuring his right ankle in the second quarter, and Brisbane confirmed Mccluggage also would not return.
Despite feverish treatment on the bench, Cameron was unable to put any weight on his ankle.
It goes from bad to worse for Brisbane.

Christensen gathered the ball in traffic and was collected by Simpkin who ran straight at him and collected him with his shoulder/upper arm.
The former Geelong player left the ground off his own steam and after a few minutes on the bench went downstairs for a concussion test and did not return.
Simpkin was fined $1000 by the Match Review Panel last year after striking Greater Western Sydney’s Adam Tomlinson in a practice match.
Kangaroos midfielder Jed Anderson was also off the field for much of the first half with a hamstring issue, but North said he would be able to return to the field if needed.
