FOOTY returns this week and so does the fun of AFL Fantasy. Coaches are back to stressing out over trades and captain choices.
Question marks are over plenty of popular Fantasy players – especially the sub-$300k ‘rookies’ – that some decisions will need to wait until teams are announced on Thursday night. But having a couple of trade plans are important to have in place before the partial lockout ahead of the Collingwood v Richmond match and the full lockout on Friday night.
Callan Ward (MID, $539,000) looked prime in the Giants’ recent intra-club match. If he is named for round two, he may be a popular Fantasy Classic inclusion at a discounted price. As could Harley Bennell (MID, $224,000). The former Docker has been doing everything right on the track and could be the answer for a rookie-priced player in the midfield.
Fantasy Classic coaches have three trades to use this week and The Traders run through a range of scenarios. 2017/18 champion Selby Lee-Steere provides expert insight into how he picked his starting side and what he will be looking at in a new-look game with bonus trades and 16-minute quarters.
