COLLINGWOOD forward Anthony Rocca believes his achilles injury will only keep him out of the game for another two weeks.

Rocca told collingwoodfc.com.au that his previous experience with achilles injuries (undergoing an operation in 2005) led him to believe he was only two or three weeks away from a return.

“It is the other foot.  I haven’t felt soreness on the other location since the operation,” Rocca said.

“I would love to be out there right now but the fact is I can’t. I have a sore achilles at the moment and it’s not letting up.  It’s looking to be two or three more weeks.”

Rocca will likely have to prove himself in the VFL when he makes his comeback from injury before being selected for the senior side.

Rocca said that it was great to see that the forward line was working well in his absence and heaped praise on teammate Travis Cloke.

“It wasn’t going to take Trav too long to get back to his best,” Rocca said. “It’s all about work rate and getting in the right position for Trav.

“Over the last two years I have been getting the second best defender because Trav has been playing too good.”

He believes a reason for part of the success that Cloke and the rest of the Magpie forwards are currently enjoying is due to the game plan the midfielders have enacted over the last two months.

“Sometimes I get really frustrated when they (midfielders) get a free kick out of the middle and they go wide straight away. I know it makes the forwards irate at times.

"We have to put the ball in there quicker, which is what we have been doing over the last six weeks.”
