PORT Adelaide ruckman Brent Renouf will miss the remainder of 2014 after undergoing knee surgery, while defender Campbell Heath is only a chance to return in 2014 after his own knee operation.

The pair were injured in the club's SANFL win last Saturday.

Renouf underwent a procedure to repair a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee, while Heath had LARS surgery after rupturing the ACL in his right knee.

The procedure was Heath's third knee reconstruction, having previously ruptured the ACL in his left knee twice.

The Power's high performance manager Darren Burgess confirmed Renouf would be sidelined for the season, while Heath is considered a chance to return later this year.

“It’s a real shame for Brent as he’d strung a whole heap of games together and was looking good,’’ Burgess said.

“[Heath] was pretty keen to go with the LARS as he's had some success with that in the past."

Renouf's injury, combined with another season-ending knee injury to Jarrad Redden, leaves Matthew Lobbe as the club's last standing ruckman.

He'll shoulder the bulk of the ruck work for the rest of 2014, but will be supported by pinch-hitters Jackson Trengove and Justin Westhoff.
