WEST Coast midfielder Brant Colledge has been cleared of serious facial damage after a sickening last-minute collision in the Foxtel Cup match with Norwood on Tuesday night.
While the Royals advanced to the semi-finals with a dominant win, the focus fell on the clash between Colledge and his Eagles teammate Scott Lycett.
In the final minute of the contest, Colledge was running back with the flight of the ball as he ran deep inside the East Perth forward 50. Lycett was running the other way and launched at the ball, colliding with Colledge at full tilt.
Colledge was assisted from the ground and taken to hospital but was released after an examination.
Remarkably, the only injuries Colledge sustained was a laceration under his eye and a mild concussion.
The Eagles confirmed he suffered no facial fractures or other injuries, but he will have a few quiet days as he recovers.
Up to that stage, both Colledge and Lycett had been key players in the dominant performance by the Royals, who won 9.11 (65) to 2.3 (15).
The 19-year-old made his AFL debut in West Coast's round three win over St Kilda at Patersons Stadium, and played the second of his two senior games in the Eagles' heavy loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium the following week.
