NORM Smith medallist Brian Lake has been recalled for Hawthorn's clash against Richmond on Sunday, with Kyle Cheney the unlucky Hawk to make way.
 
Cheney could consider himself stiff to be dropped after playing admirably above his height and weight range in defence in the first five rounds.
 
But the 186cm defender was monstered by Geelong's power forward Tom Hawkins in the crucial final term on Easter Monday, with the big Cat booting three goals.
 
Lake coming back in for his first game since last year's Grand Final is the only change for Hawthorn, with Ryan Schoenmakers forced to wait a little longer for his return from a knee reconstruction.
 
Schoenmakers, Cheney and first-year player Billy Hartung are the Hawks' emergencies.
 
Richmond has brought back young utility Matt McDonough to replace midfielder Matt Thomas for the Sunday game at the MCG.

North Melbourne will welcome back key midfielder Jack Ziebell for its crucial face-off with Fremantle at Patersons Stadium on Friday.

Fremantle has brought back youngsters Tom Sheridan and Hayden Crozier, with the suspended Hayden Ballantyne and Matt Taberner going out of the side.

Veteran defender Heath Shaw returns for Greater Western Sydney against Gold Coast as the expansion clubs battle at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.

Goodes' return could well be in the green substitute's vest, if Swans coach John Longmire's forecast on Thursday morning is to be believed.

"He's really keen to get back and play," Longmire said before the teams were released.

"We've spoken about … whether he comes in as a sub and looks good in green or not."

Melbourne has made three changes to its team, with highly-touted youngster Christian Salem to make his debut while veteran ruckman Mark Jamar returns.

Salem, the Demons' first-round pick (No. 9 overall) in last year's NAB AFL Draft, collected 32 possessions in the VFL last week.
