Butcher was hospitalised with viral meningitis on Thursday night and Redden has displayed symptoms suggesting he too has caught the infection.
The ruckman will receive further tests to determine his exact illness.
After the club's top four hopes were dealt a serious blow in Sunday's six-point loss to Collingwood, the last thing coach Ken Hinkley needs is for the virus to sweep through his playing group.
Defender Matthew Broadbent said that to ensure it didn't, special attention was being paid to hygiene at Allan Scott Headquarters.
"Butcher's still in hospital, I think he's tracking all right, and Reddo's the same, but he's still getting more tests done to find out exactly what's going on with him," he said.
"I don't know too much about [viral meningitis]; I know you've just got to get your hygiene right and we'll be doing that around the club to make sure it doesn't spread too far.
"[We'll] keep a few boys away from the club just as a precaution.
"I think it can spread pretty quick so we've just got to be pretty careful."
A number of players suffered from gastro in the lead up to Sunday's loss, but Broadbent dismissed any suggestion his teammates were not fully fit.
"I don’t think it had any impact on the game - we wouldn't have taken any of the boys in if they weren't right to play," he said.
"It's not a great thing for the club, but we'll work through it and hopefully the boys can get better."
