In its run home the Power faces a number of stern tests against Collingwood, the Sydney Swans, Gold Coast, Carlton and Fremantle before the end of the regular season.
While the Swans and Dockers have long proven they're premiership chances, the Magpies, Blues and Suns are all capable of playing match-winning football.
Just three wins separate the fifth-placed Power from eighth spot, the same number that separates them from the ladder leading Swans.
Before his side started thinking about home finals and a top four finish, Stewart said it should worry about securing a place in September.
"There's a few top-of-the-table clashes coming up, we've got a big game against Collingwood and then Sydney and then I think we've got Freo in there as well," Stewart said.
"Hopefully we come back refreshed after the bye and hit Collingwood running.
"Top four's really important, as it is every year. We know how hard it is to make the Grand Final from outside the four but we're just taking it one week at a time.
"I don't think we've (secured a finals spot) yet, we need another one or two wins, so we're just concentrating on getting that next win."
Despite enduring a frustrating season personally due to injury, Stewart hoped he could build his form before the end of the year and play his role in Port's finals campaign.
The 27-year-old injured his calf on the eve of the season before recently missing a month with a knee injury.
"I had a month off prior to last week so I'll just be doing a little bit over the four days, but I just can't wait to get back into it next week," he said.
"I've had a couple of injuries, just bad timing, one at the start of the year…then had my knee injury over the last month.
"That's come good now so hopefully [I'll] stay injury free for the rest of the year and have a good run at it until finals."
