COLLINGWOOD recruit Jack Crisp will start as one of the Magpies' substitutes on Saturday in their NAB Challenge clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

Crisp was confirmedon Saturday as another player at the centre of an AFL investigation into betting activity.

The alleged wager was made when Crisp was still at the Brisbane Lions, before he was traded to the Magpies at the end of last season.

Joining Crisp in the green vests is rookie-listed key forward Corey Gault.

The Pies have opted to leave former Lions forward Patrick Karnezis and young pair Ben Kennedy and Tim Broomhead out of the final side.

Meanwhile, the Dogs have named youngsters Joel Hamling and Caleb Daniel – who played his first game for the club last week - as their starting substitutes.

Koby Stevens, Tom Campbell and Sam Darley have been cut from the expanded squad.

Meanwhile, Adelaide cut experienced trio James Podsiadly, Matthew Jaensch and Brodie Martin for Saturday's clash against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

All three players lined up for the club's SANFL side that also played Port Adelaide earlier on Saturday.

Jaensch was one of the club's best defenders last year but after missing last week's game against Geelong the Crows opted to manage his workload in the SANFL.

Rookie forward Keenan Ramsey and rookie defender Jake Kelly will start the game as subs.

Power ruckman Jarrad Redden, who played his first senior game for the club in 651 days last week, Karl Amon and Brendon Ah Chee were removed from the AFL squad and played in the SANFL trial.

Paul Stewart and Tom Clurey will start in the green vests.

Richmond rookie Kane Lambert has been given another chance to push for elevation ahead of round one after the Tigers named him in their final team to face North Melbourne.

The Tigers cut Ricky Petterd, Nathan Gordon and Matt McDonough from their 27-man squad with the trio expected to play in a VFL practice match at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

North Melbourne cut Brad McKenzie, Leigh Adams and Aaron Black from its squad.

Lambert has played all three of the Tigers' pre-season games, impressing in a midfield role and setting himself up for elevation ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Coach Damien Hardwick this week said the former VFL star had given himself every opportunity to debut in round one when the Tigers face Carlton on April 2.
