Crows receive talk from Lehmann ahead of Giants clash
Australia coach Darren Lehmann gives presentation to Adelaide
AUSTRALIAN cricket coach Darren Lehmann has delivered a presentation to Adelaide players and coaches about team values.
Lehmann addressed the Crows on Thursday morning after watching the side train at West Lakes.
It is understood the presentation was similar to the one he delivered at Cricket Australia's boot camp last month.
Crows coach Brenton Sanderson said it was a great opportunity to share ideas and hear from one of the most successful leaders in Australian sport.
"He's one of the Crows ambassadors, he's a big Crows fan so we're really grateful today we've got the opportunity to spend some time with him," Sanderson said.
"We'll certainly pick his brain, different sort of concepts, different ideas, different systems that we can potentially work together to try and overlap some ideas.
"We can learn a lot, even though it's a different industry and a different sport, there's a lot of similarities between the coaches and the players.
"The anxiety – when you walk out to bat at the MCG on Boxing Day, similar anxieties [to] walking out on Adelaide Oval, first quarter of a Showdown."
Sanderson will hope Lehmann's address can help his side buck its 'roller-coaster' trend by beating Greater Western Sydney on Saturday.
After their surprise win against Port Adelaide last weekend, victory for the Crows could see them sneak into the top eight, if other results fall their way.
Sanderson flagged the return of small defender Rory Laird from a quad injury and wingman David Mackay from concussion for the clash.
He also floated the possibility of Ricky Henderson returning from a broken leg.
Adelaide demolished the Giants earlier in round five, with Patrick Dangerfield collecting 33 disposals and booting five goals in the 65-point win.
But Sanderson warned the Giants had improved significantly since that performance and his side would have its work cut out for it.
"That won't count for anything, scores will start level…we've just got to get away to a good start," he said.
"We can't afford to give them a sniff…we have to attack this game like we attacked Port last week.
"Our only focus this week really is to beat the Giants and that's the attitude we'll try an take up there."
