THE 2014 Women’s International Cup Grand Final will be contested by Ireland and Canada Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights, the superior of the two Canadian teams who are competing in AFLIC14, dominated Tonga this morning to join Ireland as the only undefeated teams in the Women’s Division.
The two powerhouses will meet at Punt Road Oval on Saturday at 2.10pm.
USA Freedom and Canada Midnight Suns will do battle for third position at 11.00am on Friday at Royal Park, while Fiji and Tonga will contest the 5v6 play-off, at 9.00 am on Friday.
This morning, Canadian duo Kirsten Bodashefsky and Kendra Heil dominated up forward with 11 goals between them while Margo Legualt continued her stunning carnival.
Tonga was again well served by captain Malia Afuha’amango who kicked both of the Storm’s goals.
Despite competing ferociously during the match, both teams gathered after the final siren to share each other’s team songs in ana mazing show of sportsmanship.
In other games, USA Freedom overcame Fiji and Canada Midnight Suns defeated USA Liberty in the battle of the two development teams.
