Extra interchange and no subs for Townsville game due to heat policy
THE BRISBANE Lions and Gold Coast will have no interchange cap for Sunday's NAB Challenge match in Townsville, with the AFL partially applying its heat policy.
With temperatures exceeding 30 degrees at Tony Ireland Stadium, there will be eight players on each interchange bench and no substitutions.
There will also be no cap on the number of interchanges made and the playing duration will remain the same.
Gold Coast has left young defender Henry Schade out of its original squad, while the Lions have left out Jack Crisp, Rohan Bewick and young forward Jono Freeman.
Harley Bennell and Karmichael Hunt will play their first matches of the season for Gold Coast, while the Lions have welcomed back more than 10 senior players including captain Jed Adcock and vice-captain Tom Rockliff.
