It just runs through your mind: Boomer wants MRP anguish over
Brent Harvey says his MRP anguish is weighing on his mind
NORTH Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey admits his preparation for Friday night's preliminary final against the Swans has been as impacted as he waits for the Match Review Panel to decide his fate.
The 36-year-old collided with Geelong skipper Joel Selwood in the second term of Friday night's semi-final win, forcing the Cats star from the field with a gash above his eye.
Harvey faces a nervous wait for Monday's MRP findings, with the midfielder burdened by 41 carry-over points and a 10 per cent poor record loading from his three-game ban after a round 21 misconduct charge.
The former Kangaroos skipper told Channel Seven's Game Day on Sunday that the incident had been playing on his mind.
"[It's affected] the preparation," Harvey said.
"You go to bed, last night I watched the last little bit of football and then Basil (Zempilas) says Brent Harvey's going to be the big news … and then you just put your head on the pillow and it runs fresh through your mind.
"It'd be good if it was over and done with now."
"I can't say too much about it, obviously. We'll just let it pan out over the next couple of days and we'll go from there."
Essendon midfielder Brendon Goddard said it was unfair to make Harvey wait, and suggested the Match Review Panel should make a decision within 24 hours of an incident occurring during finals.
"When there is only two games in the week I think they could do a lot more," Goddard said.
"It's a matter of getting it done earlier for Boomer's sake. They played Friday night, they could go to work yesterday and have it done in an hour.
"They know what their decision will probably be, they're sitting there watching it, so there's no reason they can't have a conclusion come the end of the weekend."
