Today we continue to pick the forwards - here's a super-talented Swan who has came back from a horrific injury to play finals last year.
Highly talented, and gifted with exceptional pace, Rohan has not been able to show his full potential due to injury hampering the early stages of his career.
Fantasy lock-ins: forwards
- Nathan Bock (Gold Coast)Focusing on Fantasy, when Rohan has hit the field, he is yet to produce the type of scores we coaches expect from a player with such potential.
Last year he played two full games (with another three as a sub) after his long awaited return from a horrible broken leg and scored just 38 and 39.
We have to be fair - the fact he even returned last year was in itself impressive, but those outputs from a Fantasy perspective are low. In fact, over his career he has a top score of only 83.
Enough of the negatives. I am a fan of picking Rohan, and here's why. At the start of 2013, the Swans' coaching staff was just hopeful that Rohan would play any form of footy during the year based on the severity of his leg injury.
The fact he was rushed back into the Swans' line-up for the last three games of the home and away season and their finals campaign, is testament to the fact he is well entrenched in the club's best 22, especially coming off a solid pre-season.
He is rookie priced and there are not many rookies that are walk-ups in their team's best 22 like Rohan - and of those players, few are priced as low as him.
In his rookie year he averaged 52 with three scores over 60. Given natural improvement, to go with increased strength and fitness, the is no reason Rohan shouldn’t be consistently scoring at a rate above 60 this year which makes him a prime cash cow for our starting Fantasy teams.
LOCKABILITY: 5/5
I know that is a high lockability for a player who has never averaged over 52, but Rohan ticks so many boxes that he can’t be ignored.
His value comes in the form of being in the Swans' best 22 and being heavily under-priced.
He is not a player you should be looking to start on your ground, unless of course he shows a dramatic improvement in his Fantasy output during the NAB Challenge.
