RICHMOND'S Aaron Edwards and Carlton's Brock McLean have accepted their MRP penalties from the NAB Challenge.

Edwards was booked for striking Melbourne's Bernie Vince, while McLean faced a fine after being cited for running into an umpire.

The mobile forward came under scrutiny after punching Vince in the midriff during the third quarter of the Tigers' 14-point loss to the Demons at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Melbourne, the incident was assessed as reckless, low impact and body contact.

Edwards' initial penalty of 80 demerit points was reduced to 60 after his six-year good record was taken into account.

By pleading guilty he received an extra 25 per cent discount, meaning 40 points has been added to his record but he avoids a suspension.

McLean was charged with making reckless contact with umpire Robert O’Gorman during the third quarter of the Blues' narrow win over North Melbourne in Ballarat on Saturday.

His initial penalty was a $2600 fine, now reduced to $1950 with the guilty plea.
