Hobart a sell-out for the North Melbourne-Adelaide clash
All seats sold for crucial clash at Hobart's Blundstone Arena
AS NORTH Melbourne edges closer to a deal extending its presence in Hobart for the next two years, the Tasmanian public has thrown its support behind the club with the Roos' clash with Adelaide this Saturday a sell out.
The AFL announced on Tuesday that all public tickets for this Saturday's game at Blundstone Arena had been sold. The venue is currently undergoing redevelopment and has a capacity of about 12,000.
The first of North's two Hobart games this year, against St Kilda in round 17, sold out a month in advance.
The Roos' clash with the Crows will be the last in a three-year deal that has seen it play two games a season at Blundstone Arena.
Negotiations are continuing for North to enter a new two-year deal that would most likely extend its presence in Hobart to three games a year.
It had been hoped that deal would be finalised before this Saturday's game, but one of the Kangaroos’ Tasmanian partners, the Hobart City Council, is yet to decide on whether it will continue its sponsorship of the club's Hobart games.
The Council will meet next Monday (August 25) to consider a report on the impact North's existing deal has had on the local economy.
North announced on Tuesday morning that Daniel Wells had accepted a one-game ban for striking and rough conduct offences, and Lindsay Thomas and Aaron Black had accepted $1200 fines for engaging in a melee.
