ESSENDON will delist Kurt Aylett a year after recruiting the midfielder from Greater Western Sydney, but intends to re-list him as a rookie in December.

However, just a day later, it added Aylett to its list of changes, with the 22-year-old set to move to the rookie list at December's draft.

"Kurt will return to pre-season training next week and continue his preparations for the upcoming season," Essendon football manager Rob Kerr said.

"Kurt is a valued member of our playing group and we look forward to his ongoing development."
Aylett played two games for the Bombers in 2014, having joined the club after beginning his career with the Giants.

Essendon exchanged pick 48 for Aylett and fellow Giant Shaun Edwards during last year's trade period. Edwards didn't play a senior game for the club in his first season there.

The move means the Bombers have opened six spots on their senior list, with three to be taken by recruits Adam Cooney, James Gwilt and Jonathan Giles.

They will take picks 17 and 20 to next month's national draft, and also upgrade rookie Patrick Ambrose to the senior list.
