NORTH Melbourne has been the biggest free agency raider of the past two years, but the Roos are set to enter 2015 as one of the clubs most vulnerable to rival recruiting splurges.

AFL.com.au has compiled a preliminary list of next year's free agents, with 70 players currently eligible.

Our list shows Geelong and North are the most exposed teams in the competition, with the Cats having eight prospective 2015 free agents and North seven.

Adelaide and Fremantle have the next most with six each, while Collingwood has the fewest with just one, followed by Port Adelaide and Brisbane Lions (two each).

North has not lost a player to free agency since its introduction in 2012.

In the same time, the Roos have picked up three opposition free agents (St Kilda's Nick Dal Santo in 2013, Carlton's Jarrad Waite and Western Bulldog Shaun Higgins in 2014) – no other club has recruited more than two – while the Cats secured Jared Rivers from Melbourne in 2012.

However, next year things could be different.

North's prospective 2015 free agents include captain Andrew Swallow, star veterans Brent Harvey and Drew Petrie, key defender Nathan Grima and injury-plagued key-position player Robbie Tarrant.

Swallow is set to be a restricted free agent given he will be coming into free agency for the first time in his career and is one of the Roos' highest-paid players.

This would give North the right to keep its skipper simply by matching any rival offer, but it should be noted no club has done this in free agency's three-year history.

Harvey and Petrie will be unrestricted free agents, with first-time free agents Grima and Tarrant almost certain to fall in the same category.

Geelong's highest priority will be to re-sign spearhead Tom Hawkins, who alongside Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield is next year's most tantalising free agent.

The Cats' other free agents include superstar veterans Steve Johnson, Jimmy Bartel, Corey Enright and James Kelly, while Andrew Mackie and Mathew Stokes could also appeal to rival clubs.

Dangerfield is part of the 2007 draft class that will become eligible for free agency for the first time next year.

His draft alumni Matthew Kreuzer, Alex Rance and Tom Bellchambers (pre-season draft) are also set to become free agents after completing the minimum eight years' service at their respective clubs.

Matthew Leuenberger, Jack Steven and Scott Selwood are among 2015's other big-name free agents, while six club captains – Jed Adcock, Luke Hodge, Swallow, Matthew Pavlich, Nathan Jones and Robert Murphy – could also be available in next October's free agency period.

As strong as next year's pool looks, it is worth noting that just four of the 57 players on the AFL's official 2014 free agency list changed clubs – Waite, Higgins, James Frawley (Melbourne to Hawthorn) and Nick Malceski (Sydney Swans to Gold Coast).

And in the past month five stars who could have explored free agency at the end of 2015 have re-signed with their clubs: Taylor Walker (Adelaide), Robbie Gray, Matthew Lobbe (Port Adelaide), Trent Cotchin (Richmond) and Matt Priddis (West Coast).

More will join them before the AFL releases its official list ahead of the 2015 season.
