JARRYD Lyons' football future at Adelaide remains clouded but reports the midfielder has requested a trade are off the mark.
Lyons is due to come out of contract at the end of this season and is yet to reach agreement with the Crows on a new deal.
News Corp reported on Tuesday the Victorian had been "embarrassed" by a "paltry" contract offer made to him by the Crows and had sought a trade.
But AFL.com.au understands Lyons remains in talks with the Crows and could yet be at West Lakes in 2017.
However, those talks might not be resolved until after the Crows' finals campaign is over, and there is growing rival interest in the 24-year-old after his breakthrough 2016 season.
It is understood that interest extends beyond Melbourne-based clubs.
Lyons has relished playing under new Crows coach Don Pyke this season, averaging 22 possessions in a career-high 18 games.
The Crows have had a busy year on the list management front, re-signing key players such as Daniel Talia, Josh Jenkins and Brad Crouch.
Lyons has played 53 games in his five seasons with Adelaide.
