IN AFL-besotted Adelaide, the big question is: did they jetty jump or not?
Did Adelaide coach Phil Walsh make his Crows jump off a jetty as a form of punishment?
It started last week when Walsh told reporters he'd make his players jump off a jetty if they again lost his key statistic: the ground ball differential.
Walsh then nominated a time and jetty to a national television audience before Adelaide's clash against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
His Crows lost the stat. And the game.
On Monday morning, ruckman Sam Jacobs didn't give a straight answer regarding any post-match punishment from Walsh, but later, the coach confirmed the Crows did not jump off the jetty.
However, he and the team did enter the water.
"We had a swim this morning. I don’t like any loss … but that (loss) was unacceptable. I think it’s important our fans know that there are some consequences (for failing to deliver on) non-negotiables," he told FIVEaa.
"I was actually at the footy on Friday night for the Crows v Glenelg (SANFL) game and the Mayor of Holdfast Bay, Stephen Patterson, reminded me it’s illegal to jump off a jetty, so we didn’t do that."
But Walsh confirmed the players did have a dip in freezing waters.
"They (the players) were all there early. We had a lovely swim," he said.
"They (the assistant coaches) put their hand up too, but I said 'I’ll take this one for the team'."
Earlier, Jacobs said he and his teammates were amused that television stations and photographers were at the appointed jetty early on Monday morning.

But Jacobs couldn’t, or wouldn’t, give a straight reply when asked about a possible dip in the ocean, as this following exchange in Monday’s press conference highlights:
Sam, any morning punishment for the night before?
"I don't know. I heard a few of youse were down there this morning," Jacobs told reporters on Monday.
But did you do anything, any punishment?
"We'll have our meetings today and go over those sort of things."
Um, pardon? So you did nothing this morning?
"I dunno. I heard you guys were down there."
But how about you guys though. Did you do anything?
"Did we do a thing - I don't know, mate. I heard youse had all the jetties covered," he said chuckling, leaving the big question unanswered.
