Despite playing out the game, scans on Monday revealed Geary would likely be sidelined for 1-2 weeks.
St Kilda's head of football David Rath said the injury was minor and the club expected Geary to be "running by the end of the week".
The Saints' stocks overall remain healthy, with only Darragh Joyce and Oscar Clavarino unavailable for selection.
St Kilda heads to the MCG this Saturday for a twilight clash against Collingwood starting at 4.35pm AEST.
