Nathan Fyfe implores Freo's midfield to lift ahead of clash with Carlton
NATHAN Fyfe says Fremantle will quickly turn its attention to Carlton after holding off Adelaide in a dour struggle at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night.
The Dockers could potentially finish with 17 wins and a draw given they face GWS, Melbourne, Port Adelaide and St Kilda in the last four weeks of the year but they must first get past Carlton next Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.
"They (the Blues) are a quality side. It doesn't get any easier for us," Fyfe said at his solo recovery session on Sunday morning.
"We haven't played too many games in Melbourne this year but we'll go over there and come up against a side that's playing some good footy.
"They had a good win yesterday. So we'll do our study this week."
In Saturday night's victory, the Dockers equalled the lowest number of inside 50s for a winning team since the statistic has been recorded.
Fyfe said it was a record his team was not particularly proud of.
"It's not ideal," Fyfe said.
"Going in 33 times is not something that we want to do.
"We want to go in more than that and our midfielders need to pump it in a lot more than that but we'll look at it during the week and see what we did wrong.
"But to capitalise and to score as many times as we did is a good thing."
Fyfe was a major part of the victory, kicking a career-best four goals to go with 29 disposals and nine marks.
Fyfe said his move forward wasn't pre-planned, just opportunistic.
"It sort of just panned out that way," Fyfe said.
"I know one of my strengths is my aerial ability, especially if I get a midfielder who is a little bit shorter than me and I can take them forward and expose them I will try and do that."
