The club released various hierarchical reshuffles on Monday but said its most awaited appointment is still being finalised.
“At this stage, it is unlikely we will be in a position to make the announcement at the best and fairest on Wednesday night, but we look forward to making an announcement as soon as possible,” interim CEO Ray Gunston told essendonfc.com.au.
In a series of administrative changes at Windy Hill, Gunston will replace Danny Corcoran – whose four month suspension begins on Tuesday – and oversee the football department.
Football operations manager Steve Alessio and list manager Adrian Dodoro will share day-to-day management responsibilities.
“Steven will look after all administrative, planning and operational matters while Adrian will look after player contracts, list management and draft preparations,” Gunston said.

“I will act as the football representative from the executive and oversee all matters relating to the football department.”
Gunston said it was important the club finalised the reshuffle in time for the free agency, trade and draft period.
Earlier, Terry Wallace told Gillette Trade Radio about his role in the Essendon coaching sub-committee interview process for the interim role in 2014.
Wallace was asked to provide independent advice to the board on the club’s coaching structure next year.
He said the club should not merely look for someone with Essendon ties to assume the role.
“I’ve said all the way along that it should be the best candidate…just pick the best candidate,” Wallace said.
“Whether they do that or believe it has to be kept in-house, that’s their decision. I can only give them my opinion.”
Wallace said the only internal person interviewed for the role was Simon Goodwin. Thompson, although in the running for the role, was not interviewed.
He would not confirm how many candidates were interviewed for the position.
