Fremantle will play off for second place on the ladder against Geelong next Saturday night
ROSS Lyon was quick to turn his attention to Fremantle's round 14 clash with Geelong after his side's 38-point victory over North Melbourne at Patersons Stadium.
Despite the Dockers extending their unbeaten streak to eight matches and moving to third on the AFL ladder, Lyon had his eyes firmly fixed on the challenge confronting his team next Saturday night.
Fremantle will play for second place on the ladder against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday night after the Cats' shock five-point loss on Sunday.
"We see it as one of the biggest challenges in footy," Lyon said in the post-match press conference.
"We are going to have to go to school in how to play the ground.
"They're a great team, so it's another challenge for us and one we're keen to meet.
"We want to keep our momentum going."
Fremantle has not played at Simonds Stadium since 2009 and the Dockers have won just once there in 12 visits, in round 10, 2005.
"They've been a great football club," Lyon said.
"We want to build to be a great football club, and part of that is going interstate and knocking over teams like Geelong.
"We understand the enormity of the challenge. It starts with a 10 out of 10 recovery for our players and then a really sharp review, and then we move on to try to break Geelong down, which is no easy feat."
Lyon was pleased with the victory over North Melbourne, particularly given the tough conditions.
"I was really nervous coming here today," Lyon said.
"We see (North) as a real emerging team that's had some bad luck.
"You saw the forecast for the weather. We had a really tough one in Adelaide. You saw the Swans yesterday when it poured, it's just a real grind in those conditions.
"It's such a big ground it makes everything really difficult,"
Lyon felt his side still didn't put together a four-quarter performance.
"(I'd) take three out of the four quarters," Lyon said
"We turned it over a lot in the second half. Particularly the third quarter, we got a bit sloppy.
"I thought when they got to 19 points the players really lifted again.
