In an ominous warning to the rest of the competition the premiership-winning coach predicted his side would only become stronger as the season wears on.
"We’ve got improvement left in our game, there's no doubt about that," Scott said after the Cats' 48-point win over Port Adelaide on Saturday.
"Win/loss is looking credible at the moment… but it's important that we continue to improve and we don't think we've played a really consistent four-quarter game all year.
"I've got no doubt we will improve, we've got some personnel coming back you'd think, at their best, would slot into our best 22."
Geelong had lost six of its eight first quarters entering its match against the Power but blew Saturday's contest wide open with seven goals to zero in the opening term.
The key to a fast start, Scott said, was a solid defence.
"The challenge was to defend better; we're really confident that when we defend really well and we make it hard for the opposition to score, particularly early in games, that things tend to work from there," Scott said.
"It's a bit simplistic to say 'let's start well', we needed to be really specific about what we needed to do early to get off to a good start.
"The primary focus for us was to make sure we made it hard for them to score."
