"Jed's only just started his career coming into his fourth year," Cameron said.
"What he brings is the experience of being at a great club in terms of the Sydney Swans.
"He's a player we think is on the verge of stepping in and playing a major role in our forward line, whether it be a high half-forward flanker or a crumbing goalkicker.
"What we've seen in his performances this year for the Swans when he played 12 games and just missed out on the finals sides, we thought he's a great chance to join our footy club and we're lucky enough to have him."
It was another prolific draft period for the Giants. They added seven players across the national, pre-season and rookie drafts to compliment the additions of Shane Mumford, Heath Shaw, Dylan Addison and Josh Hunt through the trade and free agency period.
"We've brought in some mature age players and we've added to our list in terms of new draftees," Cameron said.
"We've taken a step forward in terms of trying to balance out our list a bit more.
"We said we were going to be very proactive in the off-season and we have been."
"We did our due diligence on Alan Didak and a number of players," Cameron said.
"It wasn't just him there were a number of players, five or six that we interviewed and we screened as well and in terms of our pre-season pick, we'd already committed to Jed and we went down that track."
