The Sydney Swans' nine-year $10 million bid for Franklin rocked the football world on Tuesday, while the prospective moves of Thomas to Carlton, Betts to Adelaide and Sylvia to Fremantle were all announced on Thursday.
But Dal Santo's manager, Tom Petroro of Stride Sports Management, told AFL.com.au's Gillette Trade Radio on Thursday his client was in no rush to decide his future.
Dal Santo appeared on the AFL's free agency list for most of 2013 but was removed from an updated list released on Monday after satisfying a clause that triggered a contract extension for 2014.
Petroro said the Saints and Dal Santo would have to agree to any move to a new club, whether by a trade or free agency.
"The reason why we are leaving it open is because Nick's not definitive … he's open to a move but also open to hanging around," Petroro said.
"Nick doesn't want to be forcing St Kilda to take nothing for him. If he was to leave, he needs St Kilda to be compensated adequately as well."
AFL.com.au understands North Melbourne continues to lead the race for Dal Santo from Essendon, with no other clubs expressing an interest in the St Kilda star to date.
Collingwood premiership defender Heath Shaw remains in demand with Hawthorn, Geelong and Carlton among several clubs expressing interest.
Geelong is considered a long shot to acquire the star Magpie.
Collingwood is confident of getting a deal done for Shaw, but is considered unlikely to match Carlton's offer to Thomas.
AFL.com.au understands Ben Sinclair has come to terms with Collingwood on a new two-year deal, with a contract to be finalised once Thomas' future is decided.
With Melbourne's pick No.2 on the table, clubs are preparing to submit offers over the weekend.
Melbourne has told most clubs its asking price is a midfielder in his mid-20s who could play for at least another eight years.
West Coast on-baller Luke Shuey has been floated as a possible target of the Demons, but industry sources suggest the contracted 23-year-old would be "ungettable".
Meanwhile, Petroro was confident another of his clients, Carlton's Jeremy Laidler, would find a third AFL home in the trade period.
"Jeremy has attracted some interest from a number of clubs," Petroro said.
"I'll work through how interested those clubs are over the next week or so, but (I'm) confident that Jeremy will get an opportunity in some shape or form over the next couple of weeks."
Fremantle continues to be in the market for a key forward, with out-of-contract Essendon tall Scott Gumbleton still widely seen as the Dockers' most likely acquisition.
As expected, Geelong premiership players Paul Chapman and James Podsiadly were delisted by the Cats.
Chapman is an unrestricted free agent and his manager Liam Pickering is very confident the two-time All Australian will find a new home. Essendon is believed to be among the interested clubs.
It is understood homebound South Australian midfielder Jared Polec is leaning towards continuing his career at Adelaide rather than Port Adelaide, but the Crows' ability to broker a deal with the Brisbane Lions will be compromised by their ban from the first two rounds of this year's NAB AFL Draft.
Crows list manager David Noble told Gillette Trade Radio on Thursday the Crows were still hopeful of brokering a trade for Polec.
"We're still in there punching. We'd like to still think we're a chance to get the deal done," Noble said.
"It's ebbing and flowing, we don't have perhaps the picks we'd like to manoeuvre our way through there."
Richmond re-signed veteran forward Aaron Edwards, along with defender Jake Batchelor and key-position players Ben Griffiths and Todd Elton.
But North Melbourne’s Will Sierakowski remains uncontracted ahead of the Gillette Trade Period starting on Monday, with the midfielder's future unlikely to be decided until later this month.
