FORMER Carlton captain Chris Judd will play his first game in 2013 when the Blues take on the Brisbane Lions in Friday night's NAB Cup Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.

Carlton has taken a conservative approach with Judd since he suffered hamstring soreness in early February and has named him on its bench of six for the Grand Final.
Saturday night's game will be the first time Judd's successor, Marc Murphy, has led the Blues as its official skipper after his appointment was announced by the Blues on Thursday.
The Lions have named a near full-strength team to take on the Blues, but will still be without ruckman Matthew Leuenberger (calf soreness) who was a late withdrawal from the Lions' team that defeated Collingwood last Saturday.
Leuenberger missed most of last season after rupturing his Achilles in round three. He was due to return but the club says he's being rested as a precaution after suffering a minor calf complaint this week.
Veteran Lions midfielder Simon Black also remains sidelined with a knee injury but Jack Redden and defender Matt Maguire - who both sat out of last Saturday's 34-point win over Collingwood - are back.
Rookies Justin Clarke and Sam Michael were omitted to make way for Maguire and Redden.
The merged Brisbane club is one of five current AFL teams without a pre-season premiership but the Lions did win one as Fitzroy back in 1978.
The Brisbane Lions last played a pre-season decider in 2007, also against Carlton.
