It is the third knee reconstruction the talented Fremantle midfielder has undergone since first rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee late in 2010.
In a media release on Monday night, Fremantle said officials had spoken with the young star following the surgery.
“We heard directly from Anthony after his surgery today and from all reports it went very well,” Fremantle's football manager Chris Bond said.
“He is in really good spirits and looking forward to getting started with his recovery.”
Morabito's latest setback came when he twisted his knee while tackling a teammate during training on January 9.
Morabito enjoyed a terrific debut season but has not played a senior AFL game since Fremantle lost to Geelong in a semi-final in 2010.
He has played 23 AFL games since being taken at pick No.4 in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft.
