The Northern Territory Football Club (known as NT Thunder) competes in the North Eastern AFL (NEAFL) competition which includes AFL reserves teams from the Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney, as well as high profile suburban clubs from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Canberra.
The Northern Territory Football Club was established in 2008 and has since achieved premiership success winning the 2011 Northern Conference NEAFL title and the inaugural 2011 NEAFL Cross Conference Championship. The club has also participated in the quarter finals of the Foxtel Cup. NT Thunder is set to compete in the recently restructured and more elite NEAFL competition in 2014.
The Northern Territory Football Club seeks to engage a quality individual with superior coaching credentials, who is an exceptional leader of people, and demonstrates a proven capacity to motivate players to contribute and become part of the best possible team.
This person will be strongly motivated by the challenge of dealing with a diverse playing group, across different locations, and understands how to operate successfully within the requirements demanded of a Football Club involved at State League level.
NT Thunder is more than a football Club; it has a central focus on player wellbeing and personal development. Therefore excellent coaching skills - knowledge of modern training and match day coaching techniques - will be complimented by an active player management background. With a desire to contribute to the Club’s continued growth and professionalism, the Head Coach will have interest and passion for Territory Football, and an enthusiasm to achieve a variety of key objectives, both on and off the field.
