ADELAIDE's midfield will receive a huge boost for Sunday's clash against Greater Western Sydney, with skipper Nathan van Berlo to make his return from a knee injury.
Van Berlo suffered a knock to the knee against Port Adelaide in round three and was subbed out of the match.
Scans revealed significant bone bruising and, while no structural damage was sustained, the injury saw the captain spend three weeks on the sidelines.
Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson said the 26-year-old was keen to rejoin his teammates.
"He'll certainly play this week – good to have the skipper back," Sanderson said.
"He's itching to play and he'll certainly make our midfield better."
Utility Ricky Henderson could also return after being a late withdrawal from Adelaide's loss to Hawthorn last Saturday with a calf complaint.
"He just tweaked a calf the day before the game, but he trained fully today so he will be another one that comes into consideration," Sanderson said of Henderson.
Forward Josh Jenkins didn't train during Adelaide's main session on Thursday but the coach said there was no concern with the versatile tall.
Sanderson said he would not gamble at selection, even though the struggling Giants have yet to win a game.
"I don't think you can afford to flirt with your form," he said.
"I certainly respect GWS, as every coach does. This is a side full of young talent and at their best, they can beat anyone - and I seriously mean that."
