Geelong star Steve Johnson [MID/FWD, $541,000] will spend two weeks on the sidelines, after being suspended for rough conduct.
Two weeks without one of the most damaging Fantasy players in the League is a huge loss for nearly 70,000 teams.
But Johnson has too much talent to just move on unconditionally. So stash him on your bench and look forward to him lighting it up in two weeks time.
Trade
West Coast's Scott Selwood [MID, $518,600] is facing an extended period on the sidelines, up to eight weeks, with a fractured thumb.
Selwood ranks ninth in the competition for average Fantasy points this season, so his absence would leave a noticeable gap in your midfield.
Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury [MID, $510,600] is the logical trade, while Kieren Jack [MID, $522,200] should also be considered.
Invest
Bryce Gibbs [DEF/MID, $449,800] is nothing, if not consistent.
Gibbs has scored 123 points in his last two outings. So what's the bet he scores 123 again this week against the Sydney Swans? Third time lucky?
He has a breakeven of just 42 and has averaged 95.4 points over his last five games.
Gibbs accumulates points like few others in the competition, so jump on him before his price balloons.
New kid on the block
Joe Daniher [FWD, $143,200] was forced to bide his time in the VFL, before being unleashed on the competition in round 11.
With his third game coming up, Daniher's price will rise steeply after this round – approximately $52,000 according to projections.
The tall Bomber is a super talent and may be a fine option if you're looking to free some cash up for other areas of the field.
That hurts
News out of the Hawks on Tuesday is that star defender Grant Birchall [DEF, $334,200] will miss between four to six weeks with a PCL injury.
Birchall's Fantasy form has nosedived after opening the season in fine style.
Taking that into account, Gibbs and Fremantle's Garrick Ibbotson [DEF, $453,600] look like worthy replacements.
Surprise packet
Fremantle's ruck stocks have been decimated by injury this year, but Zac Clarke [RUC, $388,900] has stepped up to fill the void in the last few weeks.
A season-high score of 106 against North Melbourne on the weekend demonstrates Clarke's improvement.
He is a handy second-ruck option, capable of contributing each week.
