Grimes said as recently as last week that he wanted to remain a Tiger for life, and confirmed that on Wednesday by extending his contract to the end of 2015.
"I don't think there's any question of where I'm going to play the rest of my career," Grimes told AFL.com.au.
"I'd love to be a one-club player and Richmond have given me more than I could ever hope for from an AFL club.
"I'm ecstatic to be part of the playing group and the leadership group, so I won't be going anywhere at all."
The 22-year-old is on his way back from a foot injury and will play in the VFL seniors this weekend after his return through the reserves on Sunday.

Jackson, 27, has played every game this season and is posting the most consistent football of his 10-year career.
"It's encouraging to see that Daniel and Dylan, along with many of their teammates already this season, have committed to achieving team success at Richmond," Tigers' general manager of football Dan Richardson told the club's website.
"Daniel is reaping the rewards of hard work over an extended period and, alongside his football ability, his strong leadership skills have been instrumental in developing our young midfielders.
"Dylan has had some bad luck with injury, but he has outstanding qualities and we believe he will be a mainstay in the Richmond team for a long time to come."
Grimes and Jackson join Jack Riewoldt, Trent Cotchin, Alex Rance, Brandon Ellis, Nick Vlastuin, Chris Newman and Jake King as Tigers who have recommitted this year.
They are still waiting on the signatures of Dustin Martin and Reece Conca.
