Eade quit his regular Monday night spot on Fox Footy's AFL 360 program after deciding it would not be in the club's best interests for him to maintain his media role.
Eade assumed the mantle of running the day-to-day operations of the football department following the departure of long-term football manager Geoff Walsh a week ago.
He had previously been Buckley's right hand man as the club's football and coaching strategist.
"He (Eade) fills the void of Walshy, who was involved in match committee and most of the meetings Rocket (Eade) attended as well," Buckley said on Tuesday.
"He is working mainly with Perty (Gary Pert) day to day to attend to some of Walshy's duties."
The Magpies coach said the smooth transition from Walsh to Eade has been a credit to the off-field experience the club has at its fingertips.
"I think one of the things it highlights is that we have got a really strong and well spread leadership group in the football administration," Buckley said.
"What Walshy had been responsible for putting together is guys who (have) owned their own areas and were responsible and really strong managers in their own right. So it has been relatively seamless at this stage.
"Walshy was a very strong character, a very important part of where we are right now and part of his ability was to leave it in great shape which he should feel pretty happy that he is being able to."
Eade remains in the running for the Melbourne coaching job, strengthened by Demons chief executive Peter Jackson's admission the club was only looking at candidates who have senior experience.
