Hawthorn star Rioli could be cited for applying a bizarre 'chicken wing' style tackle on prone Western Bulldogs star Ryan Griffen in the first quarter of their clash at Aurora Stadium on Saturday.
Griffen appeared sore initially but played out the match full of steam and was one of the best players afield.
Rioli's effort drew comparisons with the infamous hold that earned Carlton superstar Chris Judd a four-match suspension for twisting the arm of North Melbourne midfielder Leigh Adams last year.
A Rioli ban would further weaken an already under-strength Hawks line-up for their blockbuster against Essendon at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night.
Geelong's shock loss to Adelaide would be compounded by a suspension to Bartel for a high tackle on Adelaide rookie Rory Laird in the second quarter at AAMI Stadium.
Laird had his head over the ball when an upright and almost stationary Bartel made high frontal contact. Laird was substituted out of the match with concussion.
Carlton veteran Carrazzo will come under MRP attention for an off-the-ball incident that left North Melbourne goalsneak Lindsay Thomas nursing a sore leg.
Suspension would prove another setback for the Blues' joint vice-captain, who has played three games back since being sidelined with a long-term calf injury. In the same game, Roos midfielder Jack Ziebell suffered an accidental kick to the inside of his right shin as he stifled the disposal of Carlton defender Zach Tuohy.
Ziebell left the field amid fears that he'd suffered a serious injury, but he soon returned and played out the match with what is believed to be bad bruising. Ziebell has twice suffered broken legs in his brief AFL career.
Brisbane Lions co-captain Jonathan Brown, a late withdrawal from his side's game against Melbourne with a hip injury, is also in doubt for the Lions' must-win clash against eighth-placed Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
Power youngster Tom Jonas is likely to be cited by the MRP after a heavy bump on St Kilda defender Dylan Roberton late in the second quarter at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Jonas kept his arm tucked in but made high contact that left Roberton concussed.
Roberton was assessed by the Saints' medical staff and played on briefly before being subbed out of the match.
Fellow Saint David Armitage was also dazed after hitting his head on the ground as he tackled Port Adelaide skipper Travis Boak in the last quarter.
The MRP might also look at St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt's sling tackle on Jasper Pittard. In Riewoldt's favour is that Pittard's head did not appear to strike the ground and he suffered no ill effects.
Swans champion Ryan O'Keefe was substituted out of the contest with West Coast with a leg problem that could hamper his preparations for the big clash with Richmond at the SCG on Sunday.
Geelong tagger Taylor Hunt, a late withdrawal for the Cats' clash with Adelaide with an ankle problem, is under a cloud for the game against St Kilda at Simonds Stadium on Sunday.
Collingwood defender Nathan Brown, who withdrew from the clash with Gold Coast with a groin issue, could also miss Saturday's game against Greater Western Sydney at the MCG.
Suns full-back Rory Thompson took the honours over Pies spearhead Travis Cloke despite tweaking an ankle during his side's surprise win at Metricon Stadium.
Melbourne defender Colin Garland appears likely to be sidelined with an left ankle injury sustained against the Brisbane Lions in Darwin. Tall teammate Jack Fitzpatrick kicked four goals in a losing side but hurt a knee.
Giants backman Stephen Gilham was a late withdrawal from the clash with Essendon with a back issue.
Western Bulldogs mature-age rookie Brett Goodes suffered a season-ending double break in left forearm against Hawthorn.
