WESTERN Bulldogs forward JarradGrant has opted to stay at Whitten Oval, signing a two-year contract extensiondespite interest from the Brisbane Lions.
The 24-year old spent the firsthalf of the year overcoming injury and playing in the VFL, but returned to thesenior side in round 16.
He made the most of theopportunity, kicking 13 goals in his subsequent eight games this year.
Club list manager Jason McCartneyconfirmed the deal to Fairfax, saying Grant had worked hard to earn his placein the team.
"Jarradwasn't setting the world on fire early in the year, even at VFL level, but alot of people at the club held on to the belief that he might be a betterplayer in a better side," McCartney said.
"He'sgot genuine talent, we know that. His footy smarts are of a really highquality, and we were playing better when he came back into the side. We werestarting to generate a lot more forward 50 entries, so that helped him go towork.
"Thecoach put a lot of faith in him, and full credit to Jarrad for being able towork hard to turn things around. He certainly resurrected his career in thoselast eight games."
TheBulldogs are expected to snare Essendon forward Stewart Crameri during the GilletteAFL Trade Period, and Grant's signature bolsters the team's attack.
Grant was selectedwith pick five in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft.
