On Friday the Collingwood Football Club confirmed the resignation of Director of Commercial Operations Eugene Arocca to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer of the North Melbourne Football Club.

Eugene goes with the club's blessing.

Collingwood Football Club President Eddie McGuire said “Eugene has been one of the great servants of the Collingwood Football Club. Over many years he has provided pro bono legal advice, served as a board member and more recently as a senior executive.

"Most importantly Euge has been a great friend to all at Collingwood including players of whom Euge has been a personal friend.

"It is with regret that we accept Eugene’s resignation and release him from his contract to allow him to fulfil his ambition of being a CEO in the football industry.

"The entire football club wishes Eugene, Lisa and his family the best for his future endeavours.”

Collingwood CEO Gary Pert said “Eugene has done a fantastic job of setting up a new revenue stream for the club through the five venues he manages. He has been a very important member of the executive team and I would personally like to thank him for the support he has given me. Eugene’s role will be filled internally while we review our next step.”
