NORTH Melbourne has celebrated its best and fairest count with a string of big announcements headlined by the long-term re-signings of midfielder Ben Cunnington and small forward Lindsay Thomas.
Roos coach Brad Scott announced on Monday night Cunnington had re-signed to the end of 2017 and Thomas, who led North's goalkicking in 2013 with 53 majors, had re-signed to the end of 2016.
Cunnington had already been signed to the end of 2015, while Thomas had been contracted for next season.
Scott also announced Sydney Swans assistant coach Leigh Tudor, who has previously been a member of the St Kilda and Geelong coaching teams, would return to North as one of his assistants if he did not get Essendon's interim senior coaching job.
Tudor played eight matches for North from 1989-92 before playing 60 matches for Geelong from 1993-96 and ironically setting up Gary Ablett's after-the-siren goal that sealed an agonising 1994 preliminary final loss for North.
Claremont Colts coach Ben Dyer was also announced as the Roos' new development manager, taking over from John Lamont, who announced his resignation last week.
Dyer, 35, spent a season with the Brisbane Lions Academy in 2011, before leading the Claremont under-18s to a premiership this year.
Former Melbourne Storm tackling coach John Donehue will also join North in the same role next season.
