"He's probably still got it, he's that tight," Pike joked this week, one of many paying tribute to 'Boomer' ahead of his 350th game.
When Harvey – still ranked 14th best player in the competition in the Official AFL Player Ratings – runs out in the famous blue and white stripes against St Kilda on Sunday he'll become just the 13th member of an elite club.
A four-time premiership player himself, Pike was a teammate of Harvey's in the Kangaroos side that won the 1999 flag.
"When you talk about players like Brent Harvey, he's one of the all time greats of the game," Pike said.
"He's a bloke that came to North Melbourne as a real young man, and he hasn't looked like he's aged at all, his pace is still where it was when he was younger."
"You know when you're playing with him he's going to give 100 percent effort each week."
"You don't see too many young blokes running past him with too much pace."
