Nathan Fyfe's two-game suspension is a kick in the guts for all Fantasy players.
Fyfe has been in superb touch this season, averaging 97 points per game.
But now Fantasy players are faced with a conundrum. Trade or not to trade?
He's too valuable just to put on the scrapheap. Keep him warm on your bench and watch him reward you when he returns against the Sydney Swans in round eight.
Trade
Brett Goodes has taken the League by storm this year and is one of the AFL's leading good news stories.
But a two-game ban for rough conduct, means it's time for those in Fantasy world to move him on.
Goodes' price has been boosted by $152,200, so there's some handy players available.
Melbourne's Dean Terlich [DEF, $212,000] is chalking up some respectable Fantasy scores, while Port trio Cameron O'Shea, Campbell Heath and Lewis Stevenson are others to consider.
Invest
He's considered one of the best contested marks in the competition, but it's his work at either end of the ground that has Fantasy players excited.
Geelong's Harry Taylor [FWD, $409,000] has cracked the ton in his last three games - highlighted by five goals in his tally of 108 points against the Bulldogs last week.
Taylor is in career-best form and has had a price increase of nearly $32,000.
With a breakeven score of just 37, you would be hard pressed to find a better option in your Fantasy backline than Taylor.
New kid on the block
Adelaide has a solid strike rate of producing fine players by the name of Rory.
And it's rookie Rory Laird [DEF, $108,500] who has been catching the eye recently.
Laird scored 81 last week against Carlton and is set for this third game this week and a price rise of some $48,500.
If you're looking for a cheap forward option to free up some cash, then Laird's your man.
That hurts
Injuries, as much as they are painful for all concerned, are part of this game.
Cyril Rioli is out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury, Taylor Walker is gone for the season with an ACL reconstruction and Bryce Gibbs' niggling hammy is a worry. All stars, all concerning for Fantasy pundits.
There's no point keeping Rioli or Walker, but the Gibbs dilemma is harder to navigate through.
You could stash him on your bench, or you could take the option of upgrading to Dyson Heppell [DEF/MID, $477,000] or Grant Birchall [DEF, $526,600] who are tearing it up presently.
I'd lean towards going with Birchall.
The last word
There's still plenty of quality players who are due to return to footy over the next couple of weeks, so you need to keep an eye on their movements.
Players such as Brent Harvey (North Melbourne) and West Coast pair Nic Naitanui and Sharrod Wellingham are certain to be on the park soon.
Their returns can at least dull the pain of losing one of your Fantasy stars to the scourge of injury or suspension.
