THE BUZZ of supporters will continue to grow at the Gabba and Metricon Stadium from next week, with the Queensland government announcing that up to 10,000 supporters can enter matches from round four onwards.

A cap of 2000 fans had already been placed on the three AFL games that will be played in Queensland this weekend, with that to be raised significantly from next week as the state continues to ease its COVID-19 restrictions.

From Saturday, June 27, all sports stadiums in Queensland will be able to accommodate 25 per cent of their usual crowd capacity at all matches in the state up to the Federal Government's cap of 10,000 people.

It means 10,000 fans will be able to attend Brisbane's clash with Adelaide at the Gabba next Sunday, while around 6,000 supporters will be able to attend the two matches at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon and evening.

"The only thing better than having fans back at the football is having more fans back at the football," Queensland's deputy premier Steven Miles said on Sunday.

"Queenslanders have earned this reward and earned their chance to go to the footy and I'm really pleased that they will be able to from next weekend."
